It's important to us to learn from, and collaborate with, other inspiring organisations and individuals, who share our love and concern for the future. There are many uncertainties about the present environmental crises, but one thing is absolutely certain – that hope lies in working together as a human family, sharing our knowledge and insights with each other as much as we can.
Attending global climate change conferences as an accredited observer organisation to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has helped keep us informed, involved and connected. We are active participants in the UN COP (Conference of Parties) Climate Change conferences, attending sessions, participating in panel discussions, offering side-events, exhibiting and, of course, meeting and listening to those who share our values and vision. We also attended the original Rio Summits and Rio+20 (the UN Conference on Sustainable Development).
Faith-based organisations (FBOs) have a growing presence and impact at the Climate Change Conferences and in other areas of climate responses. The Papal Encyclical has triggered a major shift in discourse and catalysed a wide range of actors to insist on the moral and ethical considerations of the climate crisis.
‘We are losing the attitude of wonder, contemplation, listening to creation. The implications of living in a horizontal manner [is that] we have moved away from God, we no longer read His signs.' HH Pope Francis in his address on World Environment Day, 5th June, 2013
