Learn to live a very simple life

Dear Friends,

Om shanti.  When we are together we often talk about the quality of our lives.  It is the quality of our minds that creates the quality of our lives.  If you don’t have the power to pack up and the power to merge, then the whole of your life will be in a continuous state of expansion. You will then have to think a lot in order to manage everything.  Learn to live a very simple life. Your clothes, your shoes, your room, every aspect of your life should be kept very clean. You should not have extra clothes.

I keep a small bag packed so that I am ready to travel on short notice. I just need to take two pieces of bread with me. To go into great expansion is to have a mind and a life that are cluttered and distracting to others. Remember that whatever thoughts I think or words and actions I perform, others will see and be influenced by them. This is very deep. Fill your attitude with spirituality and your relationships and interactions will all be wonderful.

dear dadiji,
om shanti.
we should observe simplicity in every thing:in thought,in dress,in eating because there is beauty in simplicity. in fact, there should be simplicity in every sphere of life as it brings about humility which is of paramount significance for harvesting the benefits of a spiritual life which i have personally experienced in life after completing the Rajyoga course at the brahmakumaries course at their centre at Pune,India.

The powers to packup and merge are the foundation of sprituality. If these two powers are increased in our selves other powers will automatically be added causing up-lifting of self spritual powers. Simplicity with fullof sprituality has magnetic attraction the living example is our Honurable Janki Dadi.

I like this idea of simplifying my life. I am taking steps to reduce many extras I have accumulated and to reduce clutter. Also, I see more in my life that my interactions with others, and their interactions with me ... that we influence others with what we say and do. Thank you for your writings.

Dear Dadiji, thanks for yet another extremely important and useful tip to straighten our lives. We do feel and sense that at times continous and sometimes unecessary expansion of the mind makes the things complicated such as not keeping true to ourselves and getting involved in the falsehood or exaggerating something out of proportion. However, it is extremely challenging to keep the things straight and simple in our day to day life but the rewards are great as you have rightly said and we shall endevour to acheive that. Thanks once again for this wonderful reminder. Om Shanti!

dear Dadi
Something within led me to look up the Brahma Kumaris today and when I am reading your posts I can feel illumination pouring from my own face. This also happened earlier this week when I was in the library archives looking at holy books and images. I am full of wonder about this at the present time as I have felt a deep change over the past few weeks. I am on the path of St. Francis and simplicity was also so precious to him.
