This recipe is for those who have a very, very sweet tooth. Fresh bread slightly fried, dipped into hot syrup and sprinkled with pistachios. Isn’t it your dream?

  1. Bread cut into slices
  2. Oil for frying
  3. Pistachio nuts

For the syrup

  1. 1 glass water
  2. 1 glass sugar
  3. Cardamom


  1. Pour a glass of water into a thick bottom saucepan
  2. Add a glass of sugar
  3. Add the cardamom
  4. Put on a high heat for 3-4 minutes until it becomes thick
  5. If there are sediments in the syrup add a little milk
  6. When all the sediments rise to the top, take out with a skimmer
  7. Pour some oil into a deep fryer/karhai, to deep fry the bread
  8. When the oil is hot, add the slices of bread
  9. Fry until golden brown
  10. Put them into the hot syrup
  11. Turn over occasionally
  12. Take them out and put on a plate
  13. Decorate with pistachio nuts
