Cooking with Brad: Thai Chili Basil Stir Fry

  1. ½ cup broccoli thinly sliced
  2. ½ cup red or any colour bell pepper, diced
  3. one small chicory or endive, leaves separated
  4. 2 tablespoon chopped basil
  5. 1 teaspoon chopped mint
  6. 1/8 tablespoon thai basil chilli sauce or indonesian sambal olek
  7. 1 teaspoon sweetener agave or honey
  8. 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  9. 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  10. pinch asafoetida or hing
  11. 1 teaspoon sesame seeds


  1. Heat a heavy bottom saucepan or wok.
  2. Add oil, hing, thai basil chilli sauce, agave followed by broccoli, bell pepper, chicory, basil and mint, stirring regularly
  3. Cook for 2 mins
  4. Drizzle soy sauce when vegetables are tender to touch
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds
  6. Serve hot
